No. In cases where the foreign national is linked to the host entity through an internship employment contract, the national employment situation does not apply. However, the contract must comply with the regulations for internship employment contracts and include, at a minimum, the content established in the article corresponding to the internship agreement.
The permit usually lasts for 12 months, or the duration of the internship agreement if it is shorter. It can be renewed only once, but the total duration (initial authorization plus renewal) cannot exceed 2 years. If it is based on an internship employment contract, the duration will be as stated in the contract according to applicable labor law.
